Fishing Haven, Palmers Island near Yamba

Planning a jaunt to warmer climes, and wondering if anyone has stayed at this small park on the Mclean River.

I like the look of it on Badgers, and would be interested in other opinions if you have any.

I like to park near the water, and if I can thrown in a line and catch tea, all the better.

Hi Rip and Rosie
We stayed there in oct last year
Nice Park Clean amenities Phone and internet okay Intermittent tv (but may be our antenna)
There are 3 or 4 jetties on the riverbank from which you can catch some good size fish
One of the regular ladies outdid everyone in the fishing stakes.
We found the sites to be small and close together but in saying that we are used to bush and free camping where you can set up anywhere you like.
Bottom line is we are travelling in central qld until next august when will make our way back to nsw and will be going back there for another week or so
Happy Travelling
Pete and Rose

Oh the sites at the front overlook the water.

Oops!Just warning you - you better call that river the Clarence River - the only river with an island that has a mountain range (well, that used to be the claim!). Enjoy the area. My hubby grew up there.

Met my husband to be at guest house on Palmers Island.... Wynyabbie House, on the left as you go over the bridge.... Was a guest house, had a great week.  BTW, great crabbing spot too.
