We have a confirmed housesit in Perth 1 hour from cbd. Leaving Logan, Brisbane May 1. Frantic, chucking, heaving, and tidying up.
Getting all bowel cancer awareness office stuff together for presentations, have some lined up loosely in WA Good response, Have some good people on board as support. Very exciting. Have been making key rings to sell , as like a gold donation . This will help with petrol etc, until we perhaps get a sponsor or the like. We come under the umbrella of Bowel Cancer Australia, who supply literature etc, (endorsed by BC) but it has been our own initiative in setting this up.
Howard while in hospital got to know fellow patients, sadly some did not make it. BC is the second highest killer of cancer here in australia. And unfortunately rural areas of this country are "missing the boat" with awareness and early detection. The percentage rates signify this.
This is a picture of howard, myself and George off Master Chef, he will be one of our support people, that recommends us. Nice guy. His dad has had bowel cancer.
Well done. Bowel cancer is a subject close to my heart, having lose my Mum to the disease. There is a very strong history of it in her family and I have been trying to encourage our family members to be monitored. So what material, etc are you disseminating to people? Lyn
All the best with the trip and safe travels. I have two very close friends fighting at the moment, one in Sydney and one here in Melbourne. Hideous disease and I agree spreading the word is definitely the best way to go. I wish you both well. Be safe. Tess
Sounds good ac, plenty to talk about and time for fun, enjoy and keep safe out there. My GP arranges a check every 2 years and the other side every year. The things we do now we are getting to the other end of time.
