I went to sit on an office chair in Officeworks and it slid from under me and I lost my balance, bashing my upper right arm on a fixture on my way to the floor. How embarrassing! And I said bad words!
So there's a good bruise coming up. By tomorrow it'll be a lovely colour!
That's no good Beth. What did you do? Was there something wrong with the chair or the floor? More to the point, what did the staff do? You should have it checked by the doctor to eliminate any possibility of a more severe injury than a bruise. Last year a staff member at Coles slammed into my ankle with a large trolley. The bone was severely bruised and I reported my injury and the incident straightaway. They had a report from the doc and medical image, and I received some cash to cover my costs. I'm not being alarmist here. You just need to cover your bases in your own best interest.

I remember you said you are "unco"but this isnt onco when a wheeled chair moves out from under you. You might get some sympathy this time Beth with a big bruise on your arm!
I really don't know how it happened, but I guess, an office chair is on wheels, and it was also on a plastic mat, which I suppose didn't help.
Yes, I did report it Chris. I'm older and wiser about reporting incidences these days. I think bil thought I needn't report it, but as you say, you just don't know what can come back at you down the track.
I actually need to go and have my flu shot, so I'll get the doctor to check it while I'm there. It hurt like hell, but I don't think it's anything more than bruising.
Yes, Gert, I am 'unco' but you're right, it wasn't my unco-ness this time!
I was thinking before I got to your last post the office chair had to be on wheels. Being on a shiny floor surface it would shoot straight out from under you. You really do need a minder don't you Beth. lol. Hope you haven't done anymore damage other than a bruise. Take care.

I can see we three are going to have lots of laughs in May! Bring it on!
I know what you mean Pam. Who wants to be good all your life, especially at our age. There's so much fun to be had I would never have thought of when I was young or even middle aged.

Don,t worry, Beth. While in Narooma, I fell off a rock, while fishing, and landed on my head, so there was no real damage. A bit of bark off, though.Got to keep things in balance , these days. Bill
Geez, no one came to massage me or offer sympathy when I had my ear sliced and diced. It's not too late. The stitches are out, but the bandage is still on. Come on, just a little sympathy, maybe?
Take care Beth. We lose our balance just a little bit, no matter how, and our muscles don't respond with any support like they used to when we were young and athletic things. IT'S NOT FAIR!!!! IT'S NOT FAIR!!!

Awwww.....poor Chrissy. By the time T D and H massage guy has finished with Beth and Marj, you should have the bandage off. Maybe he could drive up to you then and whisper sweet nothings into your newly adorable ear. That should make it feel better.
Seriously....I'm glad that it's coming along ok Chris. Skin cancers are rotten things.
Take care.
Pam.
