WHAT'S ON YOUR BUCKET LIST

Hi, this is for Billee12 up there in north queensland who is sick of the rain. I thought we could all do our bucket list and you too Billee12. That should give us all something to think about for awhile anyway. so here goes mine: Attend a laughing class, learn bongo drums, swim in a waterfall, sit in the audience of a tv show, send a message in a bottle, take grandkids to restaurant and buy them lime spiders, take them o the zoo, buy Strop a holiday to Japan and take one of our kids with him, hold my great grand child and whisper in his/her ear "I love you", visit Ord River,go to Snowy River festival, buy strop a mini cooper S so he can join this club, visit north western australia, watch a softball match, make a living dvd and tell my stories, sit in the forest and watch a waterfall, I have more but that's enough for now. HOW ABOUT TELLING US YOUR BUCKET LIST. Rocket n Strop sorry everyone, meant to put this in "i digress" but I don't know how to transfer it over.

thanks whoever put this in I digress for me.

Hi Rocket,
My bucket list, isn't funny how when we are talking in general we tend to say must put that on the bucket list, yet when it actually comes to write it all down the mind goes blank. Then again that may just be me.
My bucket list includes a trip to New York, Washington DC, and a place in Canada called Tofino. As far as here in Australia, well to see as much as I possibly can. I concur with your thoughts of sitting under a waterfall, a little place by the water somewhere, write a book, and who knows what else the future will hold.
I look forward to it with excitement, a little trepidation, and with enthusiasm.
It is a good topic, and one that we all can think about and dream about.

Sharon.
PS and one day I would just love to be that lady in Red.

Tassie is my first choice, then if I could afford it, get a passport so I could go to Europe to cruise the Danube and other rivers, then cruise Alaska - Canada.
I've done the waterfall swim, skinny dipped in Diamond Gorge up the head waters of the Fitzroy River on Mornington Station.
The other real dream is to be published. I've already written most of the books, but getting published is much, much harder. In the mean time I'll keep writing.
For info I write collections of real life anecdotes or short stories, collated into books of similar genre' eg Travel, Work Experiences etc.
It's just a dream. Maybe I'll try to be published in Ebooks.

I have had a bucket list for many many years, and have done the changing of the guard, ski switzerland, vienna boy''s choir, swim naked in Mediterranean, turkish bath in Istanbul, dance on tables, see niagra falls...... a master''s degree, job of my dreams...... all done.

Still want to do the big lap of Oz, meet the grey nomads in Gympie, and... oh yes..... become a nicer person.

Landfall, first you have to have a bucket into which you can put the list.

Oh to catch a fish more than 100mm long. To touch the skin of a classic marble sculpture in Europe, to watch my kids grow up to thrive and be merry. To be the man in black, play the honkytonk piano , win tatts.

There's a marble sculpture in Pt. Lincoln. Probably not a classic, but it's a memorial to all the fishermen lost from that area, situated at the Lincoln Cove Marina by the tavern. It's really beautiful, and Ken Martin didn't sculpt it.

Isnt it funny, I cant think of anything to put on a bucket list... except to go on as we are, travelling (maybe a different caravan?), visiting our kids and friends, and staying well.

Bill have done that Vancouver passage, and sung (with a hundred others) with several orchestras. I reckon the singing was and is the greatest thrill!

Everytime I think of the bucket list I realise we are lucky people as we have manged to do a fair number of things on the list.... the kids are happily married! we spent two years travelling around Oz in our van ten years ago when we were very fit and healthy! we live by the sea! but there are still a few things to go..... a couple of nights in really nice hotel in a room with a fabulous view of Sydney Harbour and never ending room service (yeah, I can see that one happening) a trip to Canada including inside passage without getting sea sick, enough money to have a really big party for heaps of friends, no one brings anything, its all paid for!!! the other half says he just wants time to sit down and do nothing! cheers Venus and Hobie

My one wish, not on any list, is for my family to be united again.
We've changed the definition of dysfunctional. "Mega-dysfunctional".
I don't like it, but it's just the way things pan out as the children become adults and make their own lives.
While I love them, I don't like the way they've chosen to live.
That's life.

Fortunately, my life has been full of adventures, some I shared with friends and those I loved, with some I was greedy and kept them to myself.

There is only one thing on my bucket list now, that is to share every remaining moment that I have left with Ma and to keep her happy.

Good one Blue, what a lovely thing to say.
But Mate, you made Ma blubber with all that soppy stuff, I think she kinda liked it.
Me personally, I think you have done something wrong and you are sucking up before she finds out but meh!!
Seriously though, I think waking up next to you every day makes her one happy lady, you two rock. smile
Not Rock, rock.

Granny I love the examples of your writing I've had the priviledge to see and wish you every luck in getting published. You have a wonderful talent for infusing the countryside with the language and presenting a series of very clear pictures of what it is like to be here and part of here and of the many faceted australian way of life.
