Newbie solo about to start the new life

Hi all. Just joined up after reading a lot of the articles/stories on here and found it very interesting and helpfull. Have just (well in the middle of) upgraded fro a HiAce camper to a jayco conquest/Merc. Putting my house and business on the market and joining all of you in what I hope is going to be an exciting and relaxed lifestyle. It's hard to make the decision to leave all you know and love but hell I hope I have made the right decision. Really looking forward to meeting many of you as I make my way aound the big country of ours.

Peter & Rufus ( the dawg) confuse

Welcome to the site, Peter and Rufus.
The lifestyle is as relaxed as you make it - just take the travel really slowly and you will wonder why you didn't do it years ago.

Welcome from me too.

I'm a part time solo nomad, but I get away as much as I can.

At this stage, I prefer to keep my place to come back to, as all my family are nearby and I'm a sook for my family.

I rent a very cheap granny flat, but if something were to happen that I'd have to leave here, I'd probably go fulltime.

I'd imagine if you owned a home, it'd be hard to make that decision to sell up and go.

All I can say is, I've never regretted making that start.

Welcome to you both. I'm sure that very soon you'll be wondering what you were worried about and why you didn't do this years ago Incidentally, I love your taste in motorhomes - yours looks like a later model than mine. Hope we meet on the road one day.

Hi and welcome. Why would you think you've made the wrong decision? What is the reason for your doubt?
I hate to tell you this, but it's too late for doubts. I have a feeling you don't, nor will you ever regret the decision to pursue this lifestyle.
Safe and happy travels, and see you on the road somewhere.

Welcome to the site PeterS n Rufus. Although I am not yet 100% on the road the decision to head in that direction was the hardest part. Once made it has been more relaxing implementing it. Life is a gamble even if you stay home in your oun lounge room . Enjoy the experience.

Gday ..... to Peter ..... and WOOF to Rufus.

As others have said, if you begin this new journey with as few plans as possible, take it slowly, smell the roses (and anything else that takes your fancy), stay awhile at a place just because you either can or it is relaxing (or move on coz ya don't feel "the vibe") and let Rufus have his head every now and then.

I've been on the road for three years now and have never regretted a single moment - been alone often but never lonely.

As you seem to have figured out, this mob on here are a good bunch.

Who knows, maybe we will bump into each other some day - figuratively of course biggrin

Cheers

John

Welcome Peter and Rufus good to see more solos and dogs on the road. I'm sure you'll leap into the life with gusto. My time is getting closer and I can't wait.....although it seems sooo far away. i do have some shakedowns planned though. As Rocky says just follow your heart and dreams and find your path as it unrolls.... well that was my liberal interpretation anyway. Look forward to meeting up with you one day.

cheers
