After buying a new camera we decided to take a few photos from around our local area.

Beautiful photos, looks like you live in a very scenic location . . . near Sydney Harbour?

Which camera did you get?

Love the photos on your website 'shutterfly'. They show what a fantastic country we live in. Well done.

Thanks Neilnruth, & to Rockylizard

To Jaytee: Sydney Harbour?. Almost. We live on the Northern Beaches of Sydney.

Have always used Pentax cameras. The new one we purchased was a Fuji. Bought it mainly because it also has a view finder. Was a bit apprehensive about it but ask the guy at the store if we weren't happy with it could we return it. Our concerns were how the colour would stack up against the Pentax cameras we use.

We are pleased with the camera, so will keep it.biggrin

Extra: Had to take the photo of the Qantas plane, as where we live we dont get too many planes flying over.

Regards & thanks

Sylvie & Daryl

I recently bought a Fuji F550EXR which is a compact travel camera. It also has GPS for geo-tagging the photos as you take them. The only thing is that if the battery is almost flat, the GPS struggles to lock onto the satellites. All GPS equipped compact cameras use a lot of power when the GPS is working.
The thing that is unique about the Fuji is that to date, it is the only camera in its class that shoots Camera RAW that also has GPS.
When I am out taking photos for the website, I like to shoot in RAW format as it allows me to rescue marginal photos where there are very dark areas and very light areas in the one shot. By using PhotoShop and the RAW plugin, you have a lot more control and can make a silk purse from a sow's ear.

i wouldn't mind a new camera, my old canon power shot A630 is ok, but i wouldn't
something between a compact and an slr quality, but as i do a lot of video's id like one that does widescreen, mostly for youtube and to watch on the bigscreen at home.. any ideas?

nice pics by the way..
