What's the weather like where you are?

Bleeding awful. Drove home from Narrandera and was being blown all over the place. Feeling happy to have a roof over my head:

As per BOM for West Wyalong: 09/02:30pm. 12.4 2.5 -1.1 39 5.5 SSW 41 57 22 31 1020.1 1020.1 0.0

Overcast ! Dry inside . Light on in kitchen its so overcast . The rain is welcome . I hear its raining other side of mountains. Gulgong, Mudgee etc . Great !!

We can see the BOM radar station from where we live near Beenleigh Qld.

We are about to get a little rain which I believe will be the first drops in say the last 8 to 10 weeks.

Heavenly spray, but does not look like we will get that much.

Check it out below.

Bingara. NSW.

Great weather. 28 degrees under the awning.

Terribly dry of course. I'd love to see a good rain to give these poor farmers some hope.

XMAS Eve in Sunny Brissie ..

Sunny, except for the usual summer electrical storm that just ripped through the area.

Power lines down in our suburb, but the fantastic people from Energex were out in the elements & had us back on line in less than an hour.

Great work.  We have wonderful community services in this country.

More storms & rain expected for XMAS Day.

Brissie on XMAS Morning

Well, put the AC on in the XMAS Dinner lounge awaiting the arrival of the hordes & guess what - down came the rain.

It wasn't expected (by me) until late this afternoon.

So, AC off, doors open & ceiling fans on.

Is it too early for a XMAS tipple?

When I was much much younger I would start the XMAS morning with a scotch in bed.  Helped to dull the hangover (I used to tell myself).

MERRY XMAS ALL

edit  ... Update ....  by lunch time it had fined up to beautiful blue sky & mild temp.  A great day AC or not.

Here in Tropical Cairns, its hot & humid mornings and afternoon thunderstorms and rain. Wet Season is building up, so expect heavy rainfall in a few weeks.

Since XMAS day the weather here in Brissy has been fab.

The nights are pleasant and the outside temp in the middle of the day not too hot.  Just enough to take advantage of the good rain of the last few days and keep the garden growing.

My water tanks are full and the grass is no longer brown & crunchy.  It's more like spring than our spring was this year.

More rain on the way, which is good.

We feel for those in the southern states suffering from the current heatwave & catastrophic bush fires.

Meanwhile the Polies play their stupid bloody games with Volunteer special payments. Unbelievable!

Green Hill Lake near Ararat Victoria, it is also cold

We will have a top of 16ºC today, but the breeze makes it feel colder

Just a little breezy at the moment in Townsville.

A gust of wind of 26kph just slammed a door downstairs a little while ago. No rain since last night (6.5mm in the gauge from 7am yesterday). Is a bit humid though (70%).

Port Elliot SA.

Howling, cold wind straight off the southern ocean here right now.

Overcast, but rain not expected.

14 degrees in the van so I've just turned the heater on.

Supposed to get back to high 20s next week.

Close to perfect here in Brisvegas.

Clear blue skies with just a hint of breeze.  23.6 degrees .. can you beat that?   Max expected 32.

Grass green still from all the recent rain.  Tanks are full & the vege garden blooming.

What am I doing sitting around the suburbs rather than enjoying it all out bush somewhere beside a watercourse cooking up a breakfast of B&E over an open fire.

Hi BW

To answer this question

Where do you find the little bubble key , for Degs.C.

You have to use a keyboard, hold down the ALT key, and then type in 167 (from the side and not the top number keys) then let go of the ALT key to get º

It is known as ASCII code

It probably will not work with phone/tablet/iphone/small laptop without numbered side keypad

Hope that this info is useful

Well buggar me  .. it worked     º   see  .     ASCII. American Standard Code for Information Interchange  !!!

.Takes me back to when I used to sometimes maintain teleprinters and all that sort of stuff  - eg. model 15, model 100 & Sagem.  Training courses where we had to strip them right down & re-assemble them over a 3 week period.  Also had to name all the parts like eg. 'Pull Bar Bail Plunger Adjusting Screw Lock Nut'.  It was only 60 years ago & I recall that it was coloured Purple (of course) on the very modern overhead transparency.
