Get your chainsaw out Jack,   You'll make a killing selling firewood when winter arrives LOL

Hi guys Having experienced a few 'Big Blows' yawn yawn yawn in my fifteen years in Darwin I know that Territorians are a resilient lot.  Have family and friends still enjoying the lifestyle up there.   They were not that concerned about 'Marcus', battened down the hatches for 'just a storm in a teacup' as one family member told me yesterday!!!

Everyone was more concerned about missing the footy (Tiwi Island Grand final) after driving into town just for it.  Thinks maybe a few downed trees to move away out at their block at Dundee will be all.

K.J -  Darwin does not have a winter, so the idea of a 'firewood killing'  was rather a hilarious suggestion by their standards.  Gwynnie   floating.gif

Well, what a difference a day makes.
Yesterday driving to Grenfell the wind was so strong. (Wasn't when we started off).
Today here in Grenfell . Overcast with a slight breeze

In Perth this morning, Sat 24/3   the sky is getting darker, sure sign the remains of Cyclone Marcus is getting closer, only had a few drops of rain so far, this afternoon and tomorrow could see some much needed rain at long last.

TROPICAL CYCLONE WARNING

Severe Tropical Cyclone Nora, Category 3, is moving southeast across the northern Gulf of Carpentaria. The Tropical Cyclone is expected to reach Category 4 strength in the next 6-12 hours while over the northeast Gulf of Carpentaria. The Tropical Cyclone is expected to take a more southerly track tonight or early Sunday and move towards the southeastern Gulf of Carpentaria coast. A coastal crossing anywhere along the western Cape York Peninsula south of Weipa this afternoon or Sunday is also possible. From later Sunday, the Tropical Cyclone is expected to become slow moving over the southeastern Gulf of Carpentaria or over land along the southern Gulf coast.

If any of you Grey Nomads plan to head North in the near future, check with the local Authorities regarding flooded roads, many may be cut during and after this Cyclone comes ashore.

A very handy 25mm in my gauge. Rained last night but only enough to keep the ground damp. Nothing registrable in the gauge. I think i am about 10km s/e of you. A few warm days and we will all be green again as it was good soaking rain.

Speaking of family, had morning tea with KJB a few Saturdays' ago.

A wonderful calm and glorious morning on Kangaroo Island with an expected daytime temperature of 24 degrees.  Caught some fabulous scenery on my camera on my early beach walks with 'Mucho Loco' the dog, she loves chasing the seagulls & the tidal waves as they roll in.   Gwynnie  floating.gif

After getting winter woolies out of storage - we now have glorious weather in Avoca, Vic, sunshine, blue skies, hardly a breeze moving the beautiful gum trees.

This is Victoria in the autumn - fantastic!

Warm & humid in Townsville!

The days have been reasonably nice but during the evenings, the breezes cease, necessitating the air conditioner to be run. It's supposed to be raining tomorrow, Saturday (Hooray)!!wink

Drizzling on the station. Enough to make it slippery, but not enough to help grow the grass.

Farm sitting north of Mackay Qld.  weather has got cooler, it is only 29degrees during the day and around 16degrees at night.

Sunshine breaking through the mist each dawn is wonderful and sunrise is unique and lovely.

Cane as far as the eye can see.  When the owner come back from their trip, I will be heading to NSW and that will be a shock to my system. lol

Love OZ, dont really care if it is hot or cold.
