Hi Guys & Gals,

As we too have family commitments later in May, thought we might 'blow in/blow out' for the day on Tues 15th - looking forward to meeting some of you that we 'met' on the forum.

Pete & June.

We'll be pleased to meet you too Pete & June. See you there!

I'm looking forward to meeting you Pete and June.

I have thought a few times that I would PM you about catching up for a coffee when I go to Bribie...but each time I'm there, you're not and vice versa.

See ya' at Gympie.

Cheers. Pam. smile

I just got summonsed for jury duty.

Missed Greens Lake because of a death in the family, and now jury duty will keep me from Gympie.

Looks like we are not meant to meet.

Have a great time everyone, let's hope we can come next time.

How dissapointing. cry Still, jury duty could be very interesting. Thanks for letting us know. smile

There are certain reasons you can use to get out of Jury duty Rosie. I am very sure meeting a group of Grey Nomads at Gympie would qualify. lol

lol, I have always wanted to do jury duty, and was never able. Now that I am retired, I am pleased they called me again, just not pleased they called right now.

I was sorry to miss Greens Lake, and ever since I have regretted going through the area on the way home after the funeral and not turning in, just in case some GN was still there. It just wasn't the right time. Seems this one isn't either.

Never mind, perhaps the court won't want me, and we can get there late in the month.

I thought of arriving in my underwear so that they sent me home, but someone said they would send me to the looney bin, so not a good idea.

Sorry that you can't make it Rip and Rosie. cry

I agree with Marj, a meeting with GN's is very important. It should surely take precedence over a criminal trial. wink  biggrin

Hope to catch up sometime.

Cheers. Pam.

Hey Rosie, many moons ago, I got out of jury duty 'cause I was pregnant - don't think that would work for us GN's now.

Had to smile with Pete last night, he asked if we would need to wear a name badge when we visit Gympie, and I said that as we will be the only ones without a van/motorhome, I think everyone will know who we are. Sure looking forward to it - and from us too Heather, welcome, looking forward to meeting you soon.

If that's a Nissan Patrol Pejay, I'll notice you with or without a van. B-i-l has one, as does my eldest son.

Hi folks ..

Just a question for you Beth ..

At the designated camping area which you understand that us GN's will inhabit once we get there, how far is that from the amenities block ?

.. I understand that they only have one amenities block and showers that service the entire area ..

Jon

If memory serves me correctly, it's fairly close to where we'll be. When I visited in January, I forgot to check them out inside. But my sister used the loo and I don't remember her complaining.

My d-i-l says it's HER car and she calls it her Poo-trol! Son calls it the Daddo! He has fond memories of his old Datsun 1600. smile

Have been chatting to a bush walking group down the park after going for a walk to get the paper. Told them about thegreynomads and mentioned the gympie get together. Well, what do you know. They are not members but knew about the get together. This lady was from Bundaberg and someone had told her about it.

Beth, not long to go now. What usually happens at the get togethers,do we all wear name badges, to make it easier to get to know everybody.

Kiwi-As At Greens we had it very casual. No name tags, thats the beauty of going up to someone and finding out who they are.
We all turned up when it suited us, we parked where we wanted, we gathered under each others awnings for chats, went for walks etc. Went back to our own vans for lunch and maybe a nana nap, then met up for happyhour which lasted till we got hungry again, went back to our vans to eat.
Then one of the boys lit a bonfire, we grabbed our chairs, sat around in a circle doing what we do best till beddy byes time.
The next day all over again.
In between there would be fishing, paddling in the lake, lots of laughs and a fabulous time.

I've never actually been to a camp get together Kiwi-as. Marj knows more about it than me, and it sounds just like when my family camps together.

I'm still wondering about the good torch Marj. confuse

Sounds like fun, but I don't think there'll be any campers on the other side of the lagoon. Never mind, I'm sure some bright spark will come up with something else. biggrin

It's the next day when your "friends" tell you the cops are in camp looking for whoever was "signalling" - some people are more gullible than others!!!!!!biggrin
