Is there a calendar on this forum for festivals and such.

Many are annual events

There is a section called "events" on the home page of the site - check that out.

there is a calendar on the blue bar but only shows birthdays and new members. it would be great if events of interest could be added to it somehow

Glad you posted when the Beanie festival is. I'm hoping to be there too. One event I did find online recently is a fossicking weekend and gemstone show at Glen Innes NSW in March.
Local tourist information sites often list festivals in that area. The online site for Northern Rivers NSW (where I'm currently living) lists markets, art shows, festivals and events. Most shires have similar sites I think.

I'm living in Murwillumbah and will be going through Casino later in the month! I'm renting a unit and am currently getting ready to go. My lease expires 27th Jan so I'll be leaving sometime around that date on my way back to Victoria to pick up a vehicle.
I'm a novice fossicker and have lots to learn. The Glen Innes festival does sound like a perfect opportunity to gain more knowledge. Last time I looked on the web site they were yet to finalise a date.

Hi dawa
Here's the link to the Glen Innes gem show. This is a better site than the first one I found - more comprehensive and gives fixed dates for the festival.
