There is another program called Lookout which I use that works as an anti virus program and can also be used to lock your phone from your computer if stolen or lost and it activates an alarm that cannot be turned off, if you are a Telstra customer they will load it for free well worth a look biggrin

i have an android acer tablet, came with my new pc and find it hard to load stuff on.. would prefer an ipad . some day..

I went out last night and bought a Samsung Nexus running Android 4 (Ice Cream Sandwich) and it will replace my iPhone 3s as soon as I get things running on it.

I have already found that there are some apps that don't function under release 4 (Viber for one and that has been a mainstay of my cheap comms with people for a while) so it isn't perfect, but I'll keep playing with it and see how I go.

Any advice on free or cheap apps to manage the syncing between the device and Outlook?

I had a HTC Desire running the android google system and had nothing but trouble, most times I would answer a call only to have it cut out, very annoying. I gave it to my daughters partner and last time we spoke he has no problems with it, I can't win. I have gone back to my old Nokia 95. I will look into a new on around November this year.

The more functions and "apps" these gadget have, the more complicated they are, making the owner more vulnerable to intrusion.

I have had a HTC desire running android for just over a year now and have had no problems what so ever. I think it's a great phone and wouldn't touch Apple with a barge pole the way they try to lock everything down so you can't use it how you want to.
