Wher The B/H is Granny?

Granny's in Emerald.

She's been on another l-o-n-g drive - Border Village to Emerald, via Roma.

Then it was back to Roma for a bonus job back to Emerald.

I left Adelaide last Friday, 16/12 for the west, a night at the Penong Caravan Park, then west to the Village to wait for the big truck.  Then away we went, pushing to beat the oversize Christmas curfew midday 23/12.

Well, we made it with a day to spare, so the transport company sent us back to Roma for a 40 tonne dump truck to deliver to Emerald before today's curfew.  We made it.

A bonus job, a good trip and a nice truck driver.

Now I'm heading home slowly, hoping to catch up with a few of you along the way.  If you'd like a visit just PM me, and I'll see what I can arrange.

I'm going to Fairbairn Dam for 2 days, then Carnarvon Gorge, then anywhere, as long as it gets me south eventually.

See you out there.

If you are coming through Vic at all CG get yourself out to Greens Lake, just in behind Elmore. There looks to be at least 5 or 6 of us out there by mid next week.

Are you going down the Pacific Hwy, New England or the Newell?

If you are heading any place near Newcastle happy to meet for a coffee, or offer you a bed for the night

Not this trip.  I was close last week at the Border, but they wouldn't let me pass.  Not sure what happened there.  (joking)

I will get there, I promise.  Just not this trip.  I've lived at Ceduna, crossed the Nullarbor several times and I've never seen her on the track.  I have seen her shopping at Ceduna in her "civvy" clothes. Ha ha ha ha.

Keep youself nice now Womby, so Santa will give your a nice pressie.

Just to report in:
I'm at the Cupie's in Brisbane, enjoying the Christmas left overs. I arrived yesterday in the middle of a birthday party for their son. I felt like an intruder, but as usual, the hospitality is great.
Then I'll be heading south to Boonah, Grafton, and on to Victoria and to joining the gang at Greens Lake for New Year.
Wish me luck.

After departing the Cupie's "rooming house", I headed to Boonah to catch up with Jules47. We had a cuppa and great chat. Oh, the pic session of course.
I'm sure she'll post it here.
I made it to Tamworth for the night, and then heading south toward Greens Lake for New Year.

Tried uploading photo - just won't work - have done it the same way heaps of other times - don't know why it won't work. Frustrating!
Had a good visit from Granny - good chat and a coffee - will meet up again for sure.

Is it too big ?  That's sometimes the reason it won't be accepted.  Doesn't a notification box appear to tell you why not ?  You usually get told if it's too big.

Cheers,

Sheba.

I knew that would happen. I have that affect on pics and computers.
I just find the photo and instead of uploading I just post it. Usually works, saves a lot of time for the same result.
I made it to Tocamal tonight. Greens Lake tomorrow. Yahoo!!! Look out!!!
New Year here I come!!!

Oh, what a mob! We found another GN couple camping at the lake, and as I departed they joined the remnant group. Oh, we had a lot of fun, and not too much alcohol was consumed by too many or too few.
There were more than 1000 people camped at the lake, and a subtle Police presence ensured peace was maintained by all.
It's a great location with flushing dunnies - well most of the time, except with blocked by too many people.
I caught up with Bob and Bev at Mildura on the way home, for a very welcome coffee and arrived home safely, in one piece 11.30pm last night.
Now it's catching up with all the stuff I didn't keep up with while on the road.
Happy 2012 everyone! I hope the year is good to you and give you many happy kilometres.
