Hi all, heading off on 28 December to SA. (Stansbury, thence North for the winter. ) I have to go via gosford NSW. Can anybody tell me if I can camp at Gosford showground for a couple of nights over new year 2012.
John, A quick Google doen't turn up much, but their website makes no mention of camping. Being owned by the State Government and not by the council or locally owned trust, may have something to do with it. The Go Kark Club within the Showground precinct allows pre booked camping for Kart meetings only. Best of luck. Ozjohn.

Ozjohn, I have a mate who has camped there only last September. I will give him a ring. I also saw the website re shows ansd NO Camping during the shows time.
Speaking to Gosford Showground today it is $15 a night but it pays to ring first there are only a few sites. The greyhound club control it phone 02 43234423. Thanks Rheo your q prompted me to ring. Now I have another option on the coast.
We are camped on grass, on 11/11/13, nearby a power distribution box, that seemed to have 415V and 10 amp pin, 240V power outlets. I used my conversion lead. The Greyhound Club (02) 4323 4423, allowed us to camp Monday night. Racing is on Tues. night. The caretaker cottage is on the right side entering the track area.
A power entry is $20 per night.
