The Drought was caused by Global Warming and would continue indefinately as the new norm.
Now Global warming is responsible for the floods, that we had better get use to because it's the new climatic norm for troplical downpours to be futher south.

No wonder we're confused, even cynical.
My answer to global warming is, "Once upon a time there was an Ice Age."
All weather is cyclic. Years, months, decades and centuries. The weather has been cyclic as long as records have been kept and stories have been shared.
This is the country know for its droughts and flooding rains. Just when they happen is hard to predict, although with the development of technology, and the referral to previous records it's easier for the forecasters to make predictions.

We live on the Sunshine Coast and haven't had any rain for two months.

Doesn't look like we'll have any today either......

Back at Jimboomba now and it is starting to rain, forecast says storm, but there does not seem to be much on the weather radar

Both scenarios are correct. The climate change models do indeed show that climate extremes will become more common - droughts more often and worse, floods more often and worse.

And yes, CG, weather is cyclic, but the current measurements show that what is happening is moving the norm higher.

Jimbo. I here that there is going to be more cyclones this season,so more serious floods i expect, when will they start building big dams central australia and put these floods to good use, instead letting lots of the water going out too sea, then they build plants to pump it back, at big costnono. They should be thinking of the future of our kids and grand kids.[They are brain dead, the pollies i am talking about]. rvtraveller2 neil nonono
