Rest area just north of Cannia Gorge Qld

I recently spent a night at a lovely rest area off the main road and screened from traffic a few km north of the road leading in to Cannia Gorge.  The Gorge is well worth some time, but $30 to park the van on an unpowered peice of grass was not on.  However when my 79yo mother was asking the CP owner for the price he obviously realised we couldn't fit that into the budget and he was the one who told us about the free camp.  Toilet, shelters (no shower but we can get around that).  By the way, has anyone else tried using one of those shower thingys that go on the tap to have a cold shower in disabled toilets?  If there's a drain in the floor of coursewink  I started using the disabled when mum was with me (she needs the "grab rail") and they're usually the cleanest and have a handbasin in the private cubicle.
