how much power does a vast box use?

I have just aquired a vast box, and want to know how much power it uses,so I can get the right size inverter. The govt subsidised the install to my house, and all I had to pay was $220.

Hi Bill, A good move you will get more ch.

The watts should be written on the stiker, mine is stuck down or I would have a look.. But it shouldnt be more than 25- 35 watts ?

uses very little power, make sure you get a PURE SINEWAVE inverter a must for digtal tv, (or so I have been told) I use a 300 watt pure sinewave inverter.

Mrs W has tv on from about 1700 till 2300 and still plenty of power left in batteries.

15W max or 1.25A on 12V Inverter uses 5W = total 20W

Bought digital satellite finder for $45 from China. Same unit in Australia $139. Best satellite finder tried. Identifies satellite http://www.satplus.com.au/products/SF3239-Posi-ID-Digital-Meter.html

I asked Duckster where he got that sat finder in another post and he did not reply, perhaps he did not see my question.

I use this unit

You can find these on eBay here  http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/New-3-5-LCD-Digital-Satellite-SAT-Finder-Signal-Meter-/110530025542?pt=Satellite_Radio&hash=item19bc1a5846

What I like about the above unit is you only attach 1 cable to it and then to the dish and the signal comes up on the units screen, at this stage there is no need to have the vast decoder turned on, you then connect the cable from the vast unit and it's all setup in a few mins
