This is a great camping spot, especially if you can get down under the old railway bridge. The view over the Burdekin River is lovely and the river water is clean and clear.
It requires an off road vehicle or at least one with good clearance BUT if you are precious about train noise...this is not a campsite for you.
It is a good hike down the hill from the amenities block too.
I agree with Boroma - a good spot. I spent a week there mid-Oct just gone.
With a smaller, or off-road van, there are number of spots down close to the river. However, I camped up on the higher ground, about 15metres from amenities - toilets and cold showers.
