PBS safety net.

Hi everyone, I recently reached the PBS safety net and was surprised that when I had my most recent script filled that there was a charge of $20.00 for anti biotic tablets. When I queried this and presented my safety net card to the pharmacist she advised me that if I "preferred" capsules in lieu of "tablets"then yes, there is no charge!

It's just one of those stupid area's of the pbs act and as the yanks say...go figure! However, it maybe something for GN's to be aware of.

trust this finds each and everyone of you in better health than yesterday.smile

cheers,

ozi2

Some medications are listed on the PBS while others are not. It's as black and white as that.
Most pharmacies will ask if you want the "lesser brand" when they receive the script.
You may only receive the "list" product if you accept the generic brand of the pharmacy rather than the big brand product.
There is no difference between the big name or "lesser brand", except the price, and maybe, just maybe a slight difference in colour.
It's just a technicality, but it can be a very expensive one.
Good health to you all!
