Housecarers.com   Cost about $60 for year.   Housesitters didnt like.

Short sits, Long sits.  All over the country.

Sometimes work includes gardening and pet sitting .

Advantage if you have your own caravan.  Just use of their bathroom.

Acerages are the best, more room.   Most housesits in the cities, Melbourne, Sydney

are apartments, small places, so not good for us nomads. 

Outback helpers scheme, often need someone to caretake properties for short term.

We are currently housesitting/property minding in the logan area have been here 14 months.  Its been perfect for us as Howard has/is still recovering from massive bowel surgery, he has his final checkup in December at PA hospital, and then we are off again,

with  truck (to be purchased) and caravan and 4 dogs heading down south.

Have a parkup organised,  will be helping out a fellow kiwi with dog boarding, and will be able to do the markets as well.  Might do fruit picking or something like that.

So we are here to at least late January.  

If you advertise on gumtree you are sure to get some response.

Hi, we have been housesitting in 5 states for about 6 years and have enjoyed it greatly. We are registered on aussie housesitters but most of our sits are from "word of mouth" barely a week passes without a call. We have had no problems except for people who want us to return where-as we prefer to go to different places. well worth going to the trouble of getting a police clearance although most people do not ask to see it. We are currently in WA and are booked right through to next september .

Some of us arent lucky enough to have family members who can do this for us, so we find a house-sitter through friends or an agency. They look after the pets, keep the lawns mowed, gardens watered and maybe weeded, collect/forward mail, generally live in and look after your house in exchange for free rent. (And free veggies from the garden)
We have had house-sitters from housecarers.com and they were excellent. It's a bit scary leaving the place in the care of strangers but we've never had a problem, although some people do.

We housesit about twice a year & are registered with housecarers.com.au. We also stay in our motorhome & just use house loo & bathroom. So far we have looked after dogs, cats, birds, fish, chooks & horses. Because of the size of our M/H we always look for a property with a bit of acreage. Our next house sit is near Buderim from early Dec to early Jan.

Terry, we started house- (or rather property-) sitting early this year, by first registering with HouseCarers, Aussie House Sitters and Easy House Sitting - that last having the advantage of being free!

After our first in Cowra, NSW, we spent about six months in the Geraldton area, on three different properties. We've looked after dogs, cats, birds, chooks (love the eggs!), geese, ducks, sheep (look after themselves mostly), a few cattle (similar to sheep), and have made some lovely new friends as well. All owners have been generous, offering any food they have left when leaving, free access to vegie garden, etc.

When we return east, we've been asked to notify two different house owners in NSW who want us for their properties.

It's a great life!

 We are also with Aussiehousesitters, it seems to have more traffic volume than other websites. We are now booked up to next Easter after only joining two months ago. We got police checks (which was a real hassle, being Nomad caravanners), but have not needed them.
