Hi Lilly ..

I'm also still keen to get up there for the 2012 Festival too, but my plan is to go to Chaffy Dam to camp. Since you were kind enough to give me the guided tour when I was there, I've never foprgotton how picturesque the Dam area was ..

I hope to be spending a few days at Christmas in Parkes, and my intention is to head up to Chaffy Dam sometime between Christmas and New Year and hopefully find a piece of 'dirt' there to camp on .. It will be pretty crowded there also, so I will need to get there asap after Christmas ..

cheers

Jon

The biggest park is City Lights just out of Tamworth on the Gonoo Goonoo rd
Austins is usually booked out by artists
Paradise is right in town but do not take bookings, first in best dressed.
A lot of clubs etc offer powered sites,For these ring Tourism Tamworth.
We are going to Tamworth but will be looking for a powered site, It can get bloody hot and a nice A/C after a big day
is nice.
At this stage going to Parkes for Elvis then to Tamworth. Maybe a bit closer to the date we should organise a get together,
Maybe Ill be able to organise some music.

Lilly you cant book for the festival at Paradise C/P, you have to be there usually by the beggining of Jan to get a site. They get you comming and going. 32 a day leading up to festival and 42 a day for the festival, minimum 10 days.
A few numbers that might help:
Tamworth Pony Club, 02 67617269 or 042145449
Nth Tam Leagues club 0401160161
Showground 02 67659381

and Jonathan I wish...... I have been involved with CM for a long time and have some good friends who are singers.

Hi Neila and Raine

Rex and I are going to Tamworth country Music festival in Jan.

I downloaded all the camping information from the festival web site, did not have much luck as most were already booked out.  We managed to get the last powered site at the Tamworth Junior Riding and Pony Club which is 9 km north of Tamworth.  I think they may have some unpowered sites available if you are set up for free camping.  Contact details are (02) 6761 7269 ring after 6pm hope this helps.

I hope to be in the area by the first of Jan 2012 .. if unable to find space without hassles, then will simply move on ..

I dont know if the council camping at the Hockey fields are booked out but perhaps you could ring Tamworth Regional Council to get the details. It would be a top spot to be as it is central to the CBD so you can walk to lots of events. If all the local parks are booked, Kootingal caravan park is about 15 mins out of town and someone on the forum was able to get a site at late notice last year.
Also just wondering if nomads would like to set a time to meet up during the Festival. Lilly31 and I both live in Tamworth and even we havent met yet. I would be great to put faces to the names we love reading about.
Bring on the music.
