Some good ideas....we do not have any animals now, we did have twin silkies and a moggie..lost the moggie and the silkies at 18, too sad to loose them all within a few weeks...

One, silkie had dreadful skin as a puppy and would self mutilate, the best remedy I found was fresh aloe vera, the tube stuff never worked as well...I used it on her whenever she had a problem...she would find me lie down and let me apply it ...most unusual for her.... it worked in seconds and she learnt to not lick it off.

I have the same sentiments about animals as you all. We really miss ours, but have not had the courage to adopt again although we have fostered.

Agree with the fresh Aloe Vera, my dog also rolls over and allows me to put it on her, anything else that I try to use and she'll try and get away and hide under the bed..
