Sign Mad Brunswick Heads

Currently staying at Brunswick Heads  NSW Far North Coast ,nice area and the Ferry Reserve  Caravan Park is just great and pet friendly.  Problem is while the park is pet friendly the town itself is far from.  One could be forgiven for thinking the Fun Police had been through I 've never seen a town with so many signs prohibiting just about every thing or a recreational nature . In fact they could save money with the erection of a sign at either end of town saying everything  that maybe fun  is banned.   There's about 200 meters of beach on which you can exercise your dog  every where else is NO DOGS period, not even on a leash. Bloody signs, it's no wonder local government is broke  signs on signs and if it that's not enough anything that has a hint of grass or bush is a National Park or Marine Park Reserve .  You can't even walk your dog along the brakewall to go fishing as you need to cross over a national park reserve  that runs from the mean high tide mark back beyond the carpark .  Man I'am as green as the next person when it comes to looking after our environment but the dark greens have control up here

Even local businesses are telling me they are bleeding to death  because of all the restriction on pets and other normal outdoor activities ,  the drop off in grey nomads is noticeable  which is the life blood of the area outside the school holidays .

I  for one won't be back with or without my dog

If you read the Webmaster's "sticky" post at the top of this forum you will see that Cindy has requested "please post positive references only"

Maybe the General Forum would be a more appropriate place for posts such as this.

Noted. As with Gen Forums the topic becomes rapidly lost purely through volume of posts . We should be able to post both pos and neg reviews/opinions on the same subject page or create a subforum for the negs. Undoubtedly there are those who have a completely different view of a particular park or location and it's those difference that keep us informed
