house selling takes time these days, you need to wait for the best price, as for your choice of van I cannot help, but best of luck with the house sale, once that goes you will be on the road.

Truth is, the best price is usually offered in the first 4 weeks of sale, after that, it takes time and unless the market rises, the sale price is generally no more and often less.

The problem with that is, just about everything else rises in price including what you wish to buy.

We have a 17'6" Paramount Delta Caravan (single axle) with shower & toilet & purchased it new in 2005. Can only say we are absolutely rapt in the van - no problems at all in over 6 years. There are plenty of good caravans but the vast majority of Paramount owners are happy with the product. I am told it is a mid range van with regards to pricing, but does give you value for money.

No van of 20ft will have a single axle. They go to 2 axles after 17'6". That's a caravan rule.
You could find a smaller, single axle van with shower and toilet cubicle.
It comes down to fitting everything in, and then the weight.
Do you want solid or pop top?
So much to think about.
When I was looking for a van I scanned the internet incessantly, and every time I went to Perth I drove my girlfriend mad driving me to the yards. Luckily most of them are on the same road within a couple of kms of each other.
I eventually found this one in ebay, private sale after 18 months of serious van hunting.
Have a layout and budget in mind, and then just hunt and hunt, and eventually the van for you will jump out of the computer at you.
Check out every van that attracts your attention everywhere you go. If there's a caravan show, go to it, just to get an idea of layouts and options, and the price of new ones will also put your choice into perspective.

Deb-Gary.  I fully understand what you are saying about single axle with shower & toilet. We purchased ours at the Brisbane C/C Show 2005 & there were only 3 there - Paramount, York & Golf. Golf was the best but an extra $15k. Couldn't see the value - that's why I say that Paramount is value for money.  We selected single beds to give us the extra room & have found the van excellent for the 2 of us. Tare weight of 1470kkgs & fully loaded approx 1750-1800kgs. Has 2 x 60kl water tanks & we find that plenty.  Have towed the van approx 55,000klms now & heading off to Perth again in Mar 2012 from Brisbane. I have been told that the van we purchased was a special built for the Caravan Shows so we may have been lucky to get that fitout. BTW, we towed this van for 6 years with a 2001 Falcon Sedan with no problems. Have now just purchased a Ford Territopry & it's a dream.

Hi

We own a 2005 paramount Delta that we have had since 2007 ours is 19ft 6ins with a combined shower/toilet.  Ours came with solar panels, we have since upgraded to 2 batterys as it only had 1 when we brought it.  We love our van we have had no problems and would recommend it to anyone.  We have replaced the annode in the hot water system and brought 2 new batteries that is all we have done.  We have travelled a lot in Qld and never had any problems.

Cheers Denise & Rex

We have just sold out Paramount  Delta Series 2 2005 model which we bought secondhand and have done 3 laps around oz and numerous shorter ones in WA and the only troublw ith it was a micro switch in the toilet and a small water leak in the front window  when we went through a severe storm in Queensland a couple of years ago.  So now have spent the rest of my savings and have stuck with the same brand and got a 2011 Golden Eagle  Eureka which my sister and our best friends have.  Hope this helps

I know you see some negative comments about various products but there will always be some that's life eh

I have put a post on the forum which answers your questions if you were in WA you could have bought ours for a  lot  less than the caravan yard price
