Not a Good Morning!!

'Morning Folks,

Had a terrific storm over Bjelke Peterson Dam this morning around 3.30am - now 8.20am and still no power, thankfully we're able to put fridge and freezer on gas and had a cuppa and toast for brekky. Sadly though all the bait died - will give 'em a proper burial shortly!

Hope all will be back to 'normal' soon.no

Good morning Pejay,
We had a big storm on the sunshine coast too, but have power.
Hope you get power soon, thanks goodness for gas and that you could still have that essential morning cuppa! ......Bronnie smilesmilesmile

Of course you will bury them at sea won't you PJ with the accompanying accoutriments and just in case they are not dead have a rescue line attached to the shore.

sorry to hear that pejay, I just use my solar kettle when the power goes out, no need to waste gas.

I hope order is restored by now, or soon. We happy campers have a back up plan, whereas the 'burb dwellers can only flick a switch. Tsk, tsk, tsk, tsk.
Poor diddumses.

Was talking to son in Biggenden tonight. They had a thunderstorm last night and another one was just coming through as we were talking.

Well Guys,

It is the morning after - and how was the rest of yesterday? Let me tell you!!!

Power came back on around lunch time, then we set plans going for a great barbie in the camp kitchen - all 11 of us in our group. Got to have happy hour first though, so sat out the back of the vans and watched the 'blackness' roll in, got under the covers as it started to rain, and then - golly gosh!! - or words to that effect, straight across from our van, not 12 ft a crack of lightning struck the ground, I have to confess - I yelled and screamed!!

Needless to say, the barbie was delayed, but still went ahead out the back of the vans and a good time was had by all. I have no idea how much vino I (personally) drank, but Pete had to refill the caraffe in the fridge, and I was not the only one as I think all of us were more 'shaken than stirred' with our little encounter with Mother Nature. However, did not loose power this time, and have to say had the most fantastic nights sleep in a l-o-n-g time!!

What beats me though, is didn't feel tipsy, no hangover, no nothing - hmm!!!

Beautiful morning today though.

PS Will soon be sitting out under the trees shelling the nuts - yumm!!!!!

What a scary but spectacular experience with nature. The adrenalin was probably running high, taking over from the alcohol.
How was the noise after or when the lightning hit the ground?

No GC, needed the alcohol to calm the nerves!! When the lightning hit it was like a humungous whip cracking by 10 fold!! Real scary stuff!

All is well now, had a quiet day yesterday (Sunday) - will be back out on the dam today.

Glad to hear all is well that ends well Pejay, and hope the weather stays nice now. That will be a good story to include in the "Misadventures of your bear"!
