Mary Pools, Mary River, WA

Well, a real find here.Spacious, picturesque, quiet, and the best maintained free park I have come across since leaving Perth. Toilet block was clean(yes) and even had ample loo paper(again, yes) and even the flush water system was operating. Absolutely no rubbish laying around and the bins are emptied every second day..No graffiti, some minor political statements were being removed at the time I was there. Plenty of shade.  The only problem was the cattle that wander thru the camp area.. That quiet that they wanders right up to your camp.As I sat having a glass of red cordial, welllll, this cow started licking me foot!!!!!! I should have called Fergie.

Camps 5, campsite 637, 180 kms past Fitzroy Crossing. Thank you to the Maintenance Crew

Well that is good news mate. smile

We were there in 2010 and the toilets were ordinary to say the least, the cement plynths and very unpleasant.

The rest of the area was lovely though, heaps of shade as you said and a couple of fresh water crocs sunning on the banks below. wink

A definite yes to stay there again.

Ditto on the toilets as they were when we visited in 2008 and 2009. A lovely place in all other ways, but those cement seat toilets are vile. Typical of most in northern WA though.

When I was there the loos were all new stainless models with a hinged flap. I would say the whole structure was less than 12 months old.

Perhaps WA is getting its act together then. Good news indeed.
