Elderly woman blows over four times the legal limit, almost hits two police officers

 0

A 90-year-old driver was allegedly so drunk that she almost hit two police officers who tried to pull her over late last night.

Around 10:15pm, police in Batemans Bay were conducting random roadside breath testing.

It is alleged that as police tried to direct the woman into the breath testing site, she had difficulty controlling her car, and almost hit two police officers.

The woman was then tested, and recorded a blood alcohol concentration of .230 - more than four times the legal limit.

She was arrested and taken to Batemans Bay Police Station for a breath analysis - however she was unable to provide a sample after three attempts.

The woman was charged with failing to supply a breath analysis and driving under the influence.

She will face court next month

I can appreciate that a 90 is still enjoying life. However it was still a criminal act and should be dealt with accordingly. Losing a loved one to an 18yr drink driver or a 90yr old drink driver still doesn't bring back the loved one.

Getting drunk takes all the fun out of drinking.
Hangovers hurt!

You haven't lived, and felt like dying, until you have a hangover, and I have to admit they spoil the beaut time I had the night before.
An overdose of alcohol really punishes the body and vital organs, and it takes about 3 days to get the "fun" out of my system.
I try not to get there these days. And people who don't get hangovers after a night on the grog really sh!t me. LOL

I havent had a drink since i was a teenager, but then again i was always the designated driver so that ruled me out the majority of the time..
besides, i never liked the taste of beer or anything alcoholic,.. prefer straight lemonaide ..

I don't get hangovers as such,,sorry CG wink,,,just very very tired the next day. I've been physically sick twice by drinking on an empty stomach. So these days I make sure I eat before drinking.

Milo, I wasn't much of a drinker when I was young. Cherry Brandy and lemonade was my drink. disbelief

I've widened my range since then. biggrin

Vodka for me these days. It's kinder to my sensitive digestive system.
