Will a Honda 2kva run a small aircon?

I have a honda 2.0i and want torun a small, 7000btu aircon in my motorhome. It says that it only draws 800 watts, but I amworried about the startup amps. Will the Honda run the aircon. Thanks, Bill

Our Honda does start and run the aircon, it's a 2.0i so yours should do the smae, make sure you only have aircon running at startup.

Hi Bill
The answer is yes it will a motor will require near double the watts s 2 x 800w = 1600w on start up. thats a rough rule of thumb and will use 800w on normal running, Your geni will run 2000w and peak is about 2500w.

I hope this helps but do not run geni on economy.
Regards

i hooked mine up today for the first time. With a/c, it reved up at start up but after a second dropped down to a reasonably low rpm, turned on microwave at same time, reved up then it dropped to pretty much the same rpm, im quit impressed with it and yes it is a tad noisy but on the end of a reasonable power lead its almost inaudible sitting in the van. Just remember to turn off your hot water.
