tassie trip

biggrinbiggrinbiggrin a big clap of hands must go to the peole at the tassie ferries booking office in melbourne,, we are told by our local travel agent that we'd have to re book our ferry ride to tassie in 2 weeks time because if the little drama that we had and the fact that we are now taking the daughter with us  so with some dispair the bride rang the ferry office direct and told her of our situation, "oh that's not a porblem, we'll just up grade you to a family cabin over and back" there will be an extra charge of $95.00 is that ok,,, ok hell the travel agen twas gunna charge us a whole new booking fee and it was more than $95.00 i'll tell you......... so long story short,, family cabin booked both, camper trailer packed and we're off in 12 days time,, the "kid" thats what i call her, is looking forward to it,, not looking forward to the extra bit of school work we have arranged for her to take,, haven't dropped that bombshell just yet,,, but it's all a go anyway and once again well done tassie ferry folk.....

That's great BB.   Enjoy your time in Tassie and enjoy your time with the ankle biter.  Thinking you will all benefit.

Well done! "The Kid" will learn more on the trip than ever at school, but if you can blend the trip with the homework everyone should win.
It's always better to deal with the carrier than a travel agent. I never use them. I plan my own trip and then find the details from the horse's mouth. No confusion and added booking fees. Online is very convenient, phone is second choice, in person if possible.
Just have a good trip.

Weather is starting to change, lots of Plover chicks about on the North West Coast, Daffodils out, Swamp harriers have arrived for their breeding season. These are all a bit earlier than normal, We have had long heavy rain events with some flooding which will replenish the water tables. have not lit the fire this morning with a clear sky. Most if not all Hydro dams are spilling so hopefully a year when we can generate all of our power needs with out importing some. Enjoy your visit, bring warm clothes (leave your shorts and thongs at home) rug up daily and enjoy what we have to offer.

Have a great trip beachball57
Tassie is a wonderful place, so well set for free camping and c/parks are quite reasonable.
Many moons ago when our kids were little and we went away, we would get them to keep a daily dairy of what we did. Also included some money matters, kms travelled, mapping, tickets, brochures, etc. Makes it a bit more personal. We still have their diaries and the love returning to them occassionally.
Enjoy the wilderness, history and the flora and fauna.
Cheers
Glenda
