Lettuce

Not really a recipe - but a good way to keep lettuce crisp while travelling is to wrap it in newspaper, then store in the fridge.  Amazing how long it will keep without going slimy.

I have also found that the paper that IGA wrap their deli products in makes a good lettuce keeper as well.

Tried a brown paper bag, didn't seem to work as well, maybe not as absorbent? I also wrapped fresh beans in newspaper when we were given some and they lasted quite well too.

Lettuce is really good for fresh salad actually its really healthy if the ingredients are fresh or raw just like tomatoes, and other herbs. Well, that's a good information on how to keep lettuce crisp, I only found out here to cover it in a newspaper to keep it fresh and crisp then put in the fridge after. Thanks for the information, anyway.
