If your still having trouble ring a dealer and speak to the spare parts depart ask what it's called and a price may be as cheap as hunting through ebay . Alternatively look for an aftermarket repair manual and see if there is a pic of the seat arrangement it may show the bracket your after

Yours sounds different from mine Marg, both my middle and passenger seat are joined and go up together, it has a plastic arm near the passenger door fixed on the seat and a hole at one end goes over a lug on the door pillar. Have a look in your log book and see what they call it in there, something like....to check the oil, lift seat and secure with......etc.
Here is a Toyota Forum, don't know if that will help;
Totally different Vic, My 3 seats lift up individually . The middle one lifts up from the back, you have to unlatch it from the base then from the right hand side if you are kneeling on the back bed/seat then lift forward to the front window. The strut?? that is missing is supposed to be under the right hand side once lifted.
Just spent the last hour reading Myrtles Owners Manual. Found it is called a stay bar for the centre seat. Tried looking for engine size as well. Did find she is an 18R, is that relevant and does it signify engine size?
Hi Marj. The 18R motor is1969cc or classed as 2Liter. Very common & reliable motor I had a Toyota Corona sedan 1978model which i purchased in 1985 second hand @91000Kms Was a great motorcar. These motors are very reliable, thats why it suprised me that yours was faulty. Makes one wonder what its previous life was. (still have the repair manual forit)

It does make you wonder DeBe. Everyone says they are so reliable and last a lifetime so what went wrong. Had a feeling she might have been a 2 litre or there abouts.

Marg, apparently some Toyota Coasters have the 18R as well, I have sent you a pm.
