RACV Care policy's

Hello all

I have just sent another email to RACV regarding the above

Hello Team
Further to my previous feedback below, I have checked the sizes on the
Concept brand of caravans and all of their vans from 15'6" are 9'6" in
height and those from 17' are 7'9" wide so therefore none of these vans
would be covered by roadside care, extra care, or total care .
I think these policy's need to be looked at and adjusted, and done quickly
as possible because from my perspective nobody who has a caravan and your
care products is not covered
Please could you forward this to your management or Board of Directors for
action

Please help by sending your own email and bombard their server to hopefully get some action

Good job Ken! The problem with these things is the decisions are made by the management who are not affected by the decisions they make.
We the humble folk out here in the real world, have to work very hard and consistently to point out the shortfalls of these decisions and policies.
It's the same everywhere. I spend a lot of time appealing to decision makers to get a handle on reality and make realistic decisions.
From Federal Government, state government, local government, the public service and private sector executives, it's happening everywhere.
It's up to us! Keep up the good work!

Blimey! Our caravan is insured with NRMA, we carry the policy receipt thingy, not the whole book. Will try to check online to see if its actually covered.
Thank you Ken!

I don't know if the RAC and NRMA are the same organisation or just offer reciprocal cover to members of both travelling in the others states.

However I can tell you that SGIO (WA) are owned by the NRMA.

The State road service organisations are run on a state by state basis but have reciprocal arrangements for their members travelling interstate.

NRMA Insurance is not owned by the NRMA motoring organisation but is part of the IAG group, an ASX listed public company.  IAG was formed when the NRMA demutualised their insurance arm several years ago and IAG retained the right to continue to use the NRMA Insurance brand.

If SGIO is owned by "NRMA" it would be owned by IAG, possibly under the NRMA "banner", and not the NRMA motoring organisation.

I'm not familiar with the ownership arrangements of RACV Insurance.

Great idea Ken, get it sorted.
Loved your piece in todays paper as well re the price of fuel in Echuca always being higher than neighbouring towns. It's a disgrace.

Thanks for the feedback Jimricho, I had no idea there were two NRMA entities (ie; owned separately). Agree it would be the NRMA (IAG) insurance arm that would be the owners of SGIO.

hello All
just to clarify that it is not the car or caravan insurance but the care packages eg total care
These packages relate to problems we may have on the road when we need assistance or towing.

HW the Riv did edit the good bits that I had about the servo's

It probably didn't get a lot of news coverage at the time outside NSW.  NRMA members were well aware as the demutualisation had to go through an extensive voting and approval process but this would have been of little concern outside NSW.

NRMA motoring and other business units did not go through this process and is still mutually owned.
