Answering PM's

In the past I have sent helpful pm's to new members in answer to a query they have had either to elaborate on a reply or give more info to them without disrupting the thread.

Some answer, some don't, to those that do I say thank you, for the ones that don't I am not sure if they just don't know how to but I have seen them post afterwards so seems they are still around.  To them I say give answering a pm a go, and if you lose a pm then just try sending a new one in answer to the previous one, it is common courtesy to answer someone who is taking time out to try to help you.

Am I the only one who has had this happen or do I need to change my deodorant confusehmm

Don't take it personally Vic or Wombat. Sometimes a newbie might not know how to PM.
In some cases its just not easy to reply to them all if you get 20 - 30 in one day like I have just recently.
Rest assured I take on board every PM I get and if a lot will just comment back in the thread as I have recently to let you all know I have received and taken note.
Some might read and think about it and not even think about replying, each to their own.

About that deodorant Vic, I have been meaning to say something to you mate.... biggrin

And yes, it has happened to me as well.

I just figure some people get a bit shy and not to sure how to go about even finding the PM in the first place, especially if you are not real computer savvy.

Now is a good time in this thread, if anyone doesn't know how, to ask a few questions and hopefully one of us should have an idea. wink

Yes, thanks folks, I wasn't referring to any frequent "flyers" here (read posters) and especially Marg who has enough on her plate at the moment and I wouldn't expect her to (haven't sent any though Marg that I can recall). And not you either Wombat.

I was just wondering if anyone else doesn't get replies either, sometimes it makes you wonder if you should bother, but I put it down to not knowing how. Good point FF is that if they don't know how to put up a post asking how to do it like I have seen some others do here.

Wombat, nice avatar, beats that bloody ugly baby one Jon uses.....wink biggrin

I must say that in 99% of cases I've received a thank you PM in return.
Maybe it's my Rexona for Men.

Cheers, ozjohn.

I send a few pm's to people and dont expect a reply back, nice if you get one but not nessary. It could go on for ever with each person sending thanks to each other after the thanks if you get my drift.
cheers

Hope I haven't been guilty of failing to thank some-one I should have.

I know exactly what you mean blaze.   You beat me to that one.

Cheers,

Sheba.

Understand what you are saying, but only common courtesy to give a simple thanks to somone who has taken the time to pm you doesn't have to continue on after that.

I do not take any none reply personally, my original post was just asking whether anyone else find the same thing, I was wondering if this was common for others too.
