Is Jonathan Messing With Our Minds...?

I don't know wether it's just my eyes or if Jonathan is trying to fill the Funny Farms...confuse

Each time I look at his Avatar it seems to change..  One day it's a normal, er unaltered pic then the next day the eyes & nose are stretched....wink

I think I'm Losing It!!!!

Hey folks .. A few of you have met me .. but I think Vic is having a shot at me for stirring him about his sqeaky shoes .. Oh Vic .. I had a haircut today .. gettin' the other one done tomorrow .. hehe !

That baby one SHEBA, I actually found on the internet .. so I was a little wary of someone claiming 'copywrite' status .. so decided to attempt to do my own ..

Still needs a lotta work .. but its fun and I'll just try to modify from this current original one.

Jon

(leaving here (Normanton,Qld) tomorrow morning .. hopefully in the area of Mareeba in a couple of days ..)

Hey Jonathan,
on the way to Mareeba, have a think about staying a day or several at Bedrock Village Caravan Park at Mount Surprise. Great little park. Good base to go and explore Undara Lava Tubes from. If you are there on the right days, can see the Savannah Lander train come through. The CP owners used to run really good day trips to Undara, and also to Cobbold Gorge, for those without 4WDs. Recommended.

Yeh Jon - Bedrock Caravan Park - Mt Suprise - great place - also the Gem Shop across the road - if you ask nicely they do tours out to a claim they have where you can shovel and sift for topaz - we found a 54 carat aquamarine out there few years ago - absolutely fantastic find - you can of course head out to O'Briens Creek on your own, but can get pretty rough - and hard to find a place to dig on your own - the gem shop tour is worth it really - that is if it is of interest to you at all. The other caravan park (behind the servo) is interesting - he has an aviary out there - really good.

Ahh the character on Star Trek was Mr Spock...

Dr Spock was the so called expert that wrote the books on raising children.... Back in the 70's I think it was...

The other caravan park at Mt Surprise on the opposite side of the road own the servo, aviary and gem shop, also have some miniature horses and is an Oz Park and a bit cheaper, the old bloke there is a bundle of joy and a bit crusty but ok, he is the lady owners 2nd husband after her first one died.  Nice clean pool and big drive through sites.  We stayed one night there.

I have heard the other one (Bedrock) is much nicer and the hosts have a nice social atmosphere as well as running the tours.

You can get the tours of the Lava Tubes cheaper if you stay at the Lava Tubes themselves, it is a bitumen road all the way in now and they have power/water caravan park sites as well as other accomodation.  If you only want to stay one night, ring the resort and book the tour you want and book your caravan site for that morning, then do the tour as soon as you arrive and park and power your van, then return after your tour and spend the night leaving next morning unless you are staying longer.

Better still, take a trip on the Savannahlander from Cairns or Mareeba.
It's a great trip.
