I've finally bought a car charger for the laptop. I can't remember who, on here, told me about Jaycar, but that's where I bought it for $59.95. I won't even attempt to explain all the technicalities, all I know is I needed one that would suit my 19 V laptop. An inverter is not a good idea for laptops, he said. Some of you techy people will no doubt understand.
And I found this trailer aligning kit at Autobarn. Their website doesn't show products, so I found just keyed in the name of the product and found this one for $9.95. Alas, I paid $24.95 at Autobarn. But I don't care, as long as it helps me line up the trailer!
Thanks for that Beth - just what I am looking for the aligning poles - didn't know what they were called - will have to find Autobarn around here - will try at Supacheap tomorrow when I go into town. Have a recharging kit, must investigate if it is suitable for my computer - see ya.

I've been trying to find them for ages, and didn't know what I was looking for either. I'm not sure that Supercheap has anything like it. I've asked there before.
I've also been wanting to get some headlight protectors, but because Lucy is only 2 years old, I'd have to buy genuine. But the nice young man at Autobarn showed me these stick-on things, that work on the same principle. So I bought them too.
The $9.95 unit is USA pricing and they don't show freight to OZ I suppose your $25 works out about the same if you add transport. Made a unit some years back using bull dog clips two timber dowels and two tennis balls not as flash but functional just the same. You could use the telescopic magnetic lifters you use when you drop a nut in a place you can't get your paws into .
Thanks for the heads up will check out Auto Barn when in town next ,they look the goods

Oh, I didn't read the details, didn't realize it was a US site. Yes, when I saw this, I thought it could be easily made, but it'd just be another thing I'd have to ask my son to do, as I'm too unco.
At Autobarn, there always seems to be plenty of staff who are only too willing to assist.
Thanks for this guys - I have terrible trouble lining up the towball and the van - even with the rear vision camera. I am getting better though and have been practising here every time I come back to the van I try to line up. I will definitely be heading to Supercheap or Autobarn when I get home.

I forgot, the other thing I bought was a solar light. I couldn't find the same on the Bunnings site to show you, but it's similar to this, but without the remote. It cost $14 at Bunnings, and was recommended by a friend who has the same one. I can sit it on the dash to charge during the day.

How do you find it My Son In law recently got a couple with auto movement sensors to clamp to the house gutter but the light output is about that of a match on a windy night

We had one of these attached to the house - someone cut the trailer plug connection from the van out there, so to prevent further theft, installed one of these - worked pretty well - son says it is still working, and is very handy when he goes out to his truck on these dark, cold Melbourne mornings.
