pick this place......blocking e mails

Hi guys, I just need some tips on how to reduce the number of e mails I get when someone posts on "pick this place", is there somewhere in settings that I can change to stop receiving e mails everytime there is a post?

thanks a lot,

cheers,

ozi2

sure is - go to top of page here where your log in name is - open- will give you all sorts of options - look through them - you can choose to receive or not these emails.

Hi Ozi2,
I suspect you may have clicked the 'subscribe' button for the 'pick this place' topic which alerts you every time someone adds something to that topic.  Unfortuantely, until you physically 'unsubscribe' from this, you will continue to get emails.  In order for to 'unsubscribe' you first need to sign in.  Next, go to your profile page.  On the lefthand side of the page, there are several categories.  One is entitled 'Posts' and under that category you should see the following subheadings:  'Member Posts', 'Topics Started', and 'Subscriptions'.  Click the 'Subscriptions' link and it should give you a list of topics that you have subscrbed to.   When you click on the topic, you will see a link towards the righthand side of the page which says 'Unsubscribe.'  Click the 'Unsubscribe' link and it will take you off the email list for the topic.  That should fix the problem ... please let me know if you have any difficulties and also if it works.

Cindy, just did what you advised and it says that I have not subscribed to any posts.

I still get email notification when anybody adds something to the Free Bumper Stickers thread.   Not that it is a problem really as there isn't much activity on there anymore.

Hi Ma,
I think the settings you choose regarding subscriptions to a topic still apply even after you have deleted your account from the forum.  Did you subscribe to this topic under your old identity?  If so, I will have to re-instate the old account for you to change the subscription status on it as I cannot do it on your behalf.  I am happy to do this for you ... hopefully it will not cause problems with multiple 'Ma' identities!

Seems, according to the List All Users that  there are now two "Ma's" listed don't know what to do about that.

Yes, I noticed that Fly.  Guess it's a bit of pot luck as to which one comes up when I log on.
