"Rust on the Axles" - resolved

Hi Folks,

The rust on the axles has now been fixed.

I used elbow grease, wire brush, scraper, rust restorer and then a flexible paint.

Noels Caravans finally came to the party and reimbursed me for the cost of the job.

However only after extensive lobbying and threats of legal action and advice from

Recreational Vehicle Manufacturers Association of Australia

Caravan & Camping Industries Association of SA Inc.

We acknowledge your email outlining an issue with a Caravan and Camping Industries Association of South Australia (CCIASA) Member Noels Island Star Caravans.

The email which you prepared was tabled at an Executive Committee Meeting held on Tuesday 22nd March, 2011.

On behalf of our Executive Committee, we would like to thank you for bringing this matter to our attention.

The CCIASA has a Code of Ethics which all members must abide, and as a result we will discuss your specific issues with Noels Island Star Caravans.

Stuart Livingstone Executive Director Caravan and Camping Industries Association of SA Inc

Alco said that they provide the steel for the axles to Preston in a raw state and said that it was up to Preston to prime and paint the steel.

Preston admitted that they do not prime the steel but simply paint it.

Thank you all for you excellent advice and encouragement.

I have no doubt that most people are bluffed when dealers will not take responsibility.

If you play them at their same game you will get results.

It is such a shame that it has to come to this.

My next fight is about the TV......... stay tuned.

Good on you, you got a good result on this one, maybe in future they will prime the steel before painting.
Lets hope you get a good result with the TV.

Good work! It does always pay to speak up. ALWAYS!
It's your hard earned cash you've invested, so you're entitled to get what you've paid for. You should also be able to trust you are being sold what you pay for. It's very disappointing when this is not the case.
Keep fighting! Word of mouth is the best, or worst, recommendation. Keep up the good work. Keep the pressure on.
Keep the bas..ards honest.
