Here is one pic of the stolen camper folded out, another will be obtained of the camper folded down later. Nat is ony new to this and I have explained to her about using caps, so please be tolerant.  I understand that the canvas on this camper trailer is very heavily stained in red mud/dust now which would not come out.

Good luck in getting your camper back - am in SE Qld - so will keep an eye out on my travels locally, as well as in our camping spots.
Welcome to the site. Keep us informed as to the status of your missing camper, won't you? Nothing worse than not hearing if someone gets a result in this sort of thing.

Caps are perfectly acceptable for an announcement like that.

Hope you get your camper back, what low-lifes would do that!

Did you know that you can buy a satelite vehicle tracker and place on your camper/caravan/motorhome. I am just about to purchase one for my van. $299 with no ongoing costs. Can be tracked on Google and message alerts to mobile phone if it moves.

That sounds like a good investment Galah, worth following up.

Someone sent me this link for stolen camper trailers, click on that wording at the top of the page to bring the stolen trailers page up, I had no idea it was so widespread, see; http://www.campertrailers.org/

You just read so many reports of vans and campers getting stolen, that you have to take some precautions.
While we were in Alice Springs back when that Peter Falconio guy disappeared, we were booking into The Gap Caravan Park and another couple were in there booking in too. When they had paid their fees and been allocated their site they left the office to dicover their camper trailer had been unhitched from their car while they were inside booking in. They certainly are brazen, these theives. I wouldn't have believed it, if I hadn't been there at the time.

Just had a look at the website posted by Galahs, very impressed, will be investing in this item myself. I have copied it and will paste it here. Cheers Rob.

  • Can be integrated with your existing alarm, and will notify you when if the alarm is activated
  • Can be used as a silent alarm
  • You can track a vehicle at anytime simply by "pinging" the unit, and it will reply with an SMS giving you the latitude and longitude, direction of travel & speed
  • With a 3G enabled mobile phone, you can even get a coloured road map on your phone showing you the location of the vehicle!
  • Alternatively you can simply see a coloured map showing you the location of the vehicle via the Internet.
  • The standard system has 5 inputs and 5 outputs. Inputs can monitor things such as alarms, engine overheating, low oil pressure, panic button etc. Outputs can be used to lock or unlock the doors (central locking required), immobilize the engine, set off the horn etc. This can all be done from your mobile phone!
  • You can set up an unlimited number of Geo-fences. A Geo-fence is an invisible "electronic boundary" that you set up on the internet around any object or area. It can be as small as a 50m radius around a house, or 100km circle around a city that you wish to be notified about. If the vehicle enters / or exits this area, you will be notified. You can even specify a time limit that a vehicle can spend in a particular Geo-fence, which will notify you if the vehicle exceeds that time.
  • You can set a maximum speed limit, and if exceeded you are notified
  • It will also monitor the vehicle's battery. If the voltage gets too low, or the battery is disconnected, you will be notified.
  • A panic button can be installed in the vehicle that when activated, will notify you & the vehicle's location.
  • An optional speaker and microphone can be added, so you can hear what is going on inside the vehicle and talk to the driver if required (Privacy Laws Apply).
  • All alerts can be sent via SMS, or they can be stored on the unit's SD card for later transmission.
  • You can have data logging of speed and location for later reference.
  • Customizable software can be developed (Quotation required).

What a great idea, looks like it might be a must have given that this type of theft seems to be on the increase.

Firm believer in karma. You put it out there, expect to get it back and most likely a double dose.
