Blue put his pot in the creek at Mudgee last year, for yabbies of course, and all he caught was a water rat and needless to say it drowned.

Not familiar with that type of Pot Bill, but is there any way you might put more bait just outside the entry if it happens again ?  Would it be able to go for the second bait and get out on its own ?

Cheers,

Sheba.

Bin south to get out of the rain, but it followed me down. Had a great few days with Petengail at Inskip pt. Would like to go away again, but Easter is next week, and have to make some money.I still have my fingers as I usd a broom to entise the lizard out of the pot. Maybe I should have eaten it- they tell me they aren,t bad.............

Is that the catch of the day Bill? Think the recent barra would have tasted better but then a Goanna is one thing I havent eaten yet.

Goanna is good eating. You caught yourself a bungara, or lace monitor lizard. Quite cute really, except when caught in a net.
Bet it won't do that again.

There was a much bigger one in the tree near our camp.It was into the bait bucket, and Pete shooed them away with another broom. I had one, 6ft long, try to climb into my camper down at Green cape. I made the mistake of feeding it a fish head, and then some pichards. I have a video of it. Will post it soon.
