Just received this in an E-mail.  Not sure how accurate all of it is.

 

ATM PIN Number reversal:

If you should every be uncomfortable withdraw money from an ATM you can notify policy by

Entering your PIN # in reverse.

The machine will still give you the money but unknown to the robber the police will be immediately dispatched to the location.  All ATMs carry this emergency sequencer by law.

 

MOBILE PHONES:

The emergency number worldwide for all mobile phones is 112.

If you are out of coverage area of your network dial 112 and your mobile will search the emergency number for you even if the keypad is locked.  This works on all phones worldwide and is free.  It is equivalent of 000.

 

Hidden Battery power.

If your phone is almost flat and you do not have a charger with you, this will give you extra power to tide you over.  To activate press the keys *3370# dont forget the asterisk.  Do this when the phone is almost dead.   Your mobile will restart in a special way with this new reserve and the instrument will show a 50% increase in battery life.  This reserve will get recharged when you charge your mobile next time. This info is in the fine print in most phone manuals, but people however skip this information without realizing.

Am sure it's a scam. I also received this, and checked it out on snopes. It proved to be false.

Hi Sheba , Our daughter is a bank manager and if you use your pin backwards it may keep your card if you try it more than 3-5 ? times and it wont call the cops... I also saw this and asked her , a small laugh was the first reply, then all the details on how they watch most atms...
