G'day Bill, I am replying using the Asus you are seeking. It is a very robust unit, I take it oversea's in carry on luggage and no problems or worries in its build quality.
It has so many functions for the price ( I paid $350 at JB hi fi on special) ie, skype, bluetooth etc. I have had one warranty issue in 18 mths, however be wary of the battery life level, it isnt accurate and my battery went down hill very quickly...Just after the warranty expired
Asus have a service centre in Brisbane and were pleasant to deal with.

We run 2 toshisha laptops and charge them via 12volt, purchased a couple of step up multi voltage adoptors off ebay for about $15 each.

hi bill, i have an eee pc, one of the first that came out but ditchted it for a samsung netbook, the small ones
cant remember what size the hard drive is.. but its good for a day away but i prefer my laptop , and im sure you
can find 12 volt charges for them.. but these net books are handy, either that you can get an ipad if you want
but i prefer the bigger screens on laptops.. you can also try dick smiths too, and jaycar ...

I am going to Officework , tommorrow, as its blowing, and raining hard here for the next few days. They have an eee for sale at $279, and a 500gig seagate usb hard drive for $69!Jaycar have a 12v adapter for $12. Will have a brows around before surrendering my hard earned cash.
