EASTER

Hi everyone,  I have been left with the arduous task of picking a place for easter for about 10 campers and caravaners.  We went to sheepyard flat last year which was sooooo crowded, so I thought I might try some other sites from the CAMPS4 book.  Would prefer a river.   Anyone been to any of them  ie

Doctors creek reserve
Skipworth reserve
Twelve Mile reserve

etc.

If anyone has some ideas around Mansfield area, would really appreciate it.

If not, we might even try Yackandandah.  Love that little town.

My husband and I camped doctors creek reserve few years ago at Easter - only about 3 other campers there - plenty of room, pit loos -
have you looked around Briagalong - near the quarry? - can't think what it is called , but there is swimming, not too far out of town, and the Bri pub meals are humungous!!!!!!!!!!!

Sheepyard Flat is always busy on weekends and peak periods ie. Christmas, Public Holidays, Easter etc. Great spot mid week during school terms. We have the luxury of being able to stay home at Easter/Christmas and avoid the crowds.

A couple of years ago we camped at Knockwood, further down the Jameison-Walhalla road than the three you have mentioned.

From what we have seen all campgrounds on that stretch of road are good, though some may be a bit of a squeeze with 10 vans.

See http://www.parkweb.vic.gov.au/1park_display.cfm?park=202 which lists the various campground sizes.
