Well the long-range fore-caster said a couple of nights ago that we're due for at least 2 more this season.

One this month, and one in March.

And that one of them could very likely hit the Sunshine Coast Area.

Wouldn't hurt to be prepared.

Cheers,
Sheba.

I saw that too Sheba. My thoughts were: Haven't we had enough already, what next.
At least there should be plenty of warning to get things battened down, packed away, moved if need be. If I lived up there I would be starting now.

They forcast about 6 cyclones for the east coast this season. Two down, 4 to go.
If you understand these weather systems, this new one looks even bigger than Yasi.
It's picking up water and momentum from a huge section of the ocean. Stand by for further developments I suppose.
Being prepared saves lives. Unlike the inland tsunami, there is time to plan for cyclones, and anyone who doesn't is a fool.
We know they're coming, we prepare for the worst, and no one knows what will be left when it has passed. That's when the shock sets in.
I've also been watching Yasi's tail which could also form another monsoonal low full of water and wind.
The slower they take to get to the coast, the more momentum and water they pick up.
There's not much left to destroy on the Qld coast. All the best to everyone.

I quite agree with you Granny... the cyclone season lasts until April, so there is still a fair way to go....
