And they thought Ned Kelly was a bad bloke!
When you look at what they own it's hard to shop some where that they dont own.

Aldi is a privately owned foreign (German) company and has no connection to Woolworths or Wesfarmers (Coles).

I could stand to be corrected on this but I think Metcash, the principal wholesale supplier to the IGA franchises is foreign (South African) owned.

Woolworths and Wesfarmers are Australian owned and listed on the ASX.

Hey Guys N Gals,

I was chatting to a local form Millicent the other day and she related a story about the fires down here not so long ago...

The lady is involved in the local disaster relief organisation and was tasked by the centre controllers to try to get some supplies for the Millicent Welfare/Evacuation Centre, they needed essensials like bread, milk & nappies etc... she approached Woolworths here and was met at the front doors by the manager...she didnet even get a word out when he informed her that he had been instructed by Sydney NOT to donate anything at all.

She then went around the corner to the locally owned and operated Foodland and the manager told her to just take what they wanted, she offered to make a list of the stuff they had taken and he told her to just take it and don't worry about it.

The Woolworths manager should have had the intestinal fortitude to use his managers discretion account to just give her some food stuffs, after all he has a write off account which is quite substantial, all he had to do was use it.

I refuse to shop at woolies after this, even their grog is so much more expensive. I always use the small local butchers and Foodland/IGA where possible now.
