House chucking a hissy fit !

After much talking and research we have made the decision ( 6 months ago) to become full time travellers and sell business and house..plan is  in 18 months.
So  have started on the decluttering of the house.
l started to notice small things happening around the house... didn't take much notice just put them down to the "things that need doing before we sell"
Then within the last month..

All these appliances have just stopped working..washing machine..freezer..fridge..toaster..TV..vacumn.A/C... okay you get the picture.
All appliances when tested had nothing wrong except the washing machine..it was old so not unexpected.
So we had an electrician in to check if all was okay..yep all fine.
Then ride on mower stopped.( lalso have a little electric mower that l use in my cat enclosure ) it also just stopped..once again nothing wrong with them.
Then in the house above a square door arch one side dropped..( it was checked by a structural engineer...with no structural reason for this to happen) and weird as it only happened one side not the other...okay fixed it no problems.
4 weeks ago woke to fond one wall at a doorway has arched out by about 4 inches in the middle...now whilst l can get that  it's wood in can bow out.. the wall which is fibro would have had to grow to accomplish the same.( It has bowed out vertically towards the inner door
A concrete slab portion buckled upwards with no cracks underneath.
Family and friends are saying "the house doesn't want us to leave "  others say it's haunted...although l am open minded to such things in life as the super natural l am impatient and stubborn ( and they are my good points ) l won't be dictated to by humans let alone a house.
So l have done what any woman would do under these circumstances...cried...woe is me...the universe is against us...Reasoned with the house ( we won't sell to anyone that won't look after you.)...Then got angry...got a lighter and threatened to burn it down.
The l went to the inner b###ch in me.. (.you know the one blokes ...that you should never cross  )and got devious...An aqquaintance who's son was due to head north for a job but due to the flood was unable to.. has got a large semi with a bull dozer on the back and wished to leave it in town while he did another job elsewhere ...l have now got a large bull dozer sitting in my large back yard.
House has had a stern talking to and threatened with being flattened.
Two days ago l woke to find the  door bow gone... concrete section flat again...common sense tell me this is crazy stuff .
Both lawn mowers are working again..appiainces are okay ( the ones we didn't dispose of )
Still have the bulldozer in the back yard..am thinking of buying an old one and making it a permanent fixture...anyone know how to blend a bulldozer into a house yard asthetically ?
We will still be leaving ..no matter what this house says..or does.
l hope that it's to travel around Australia and not in a straight jacket !!!!!!   biggrin

When you and the boss talk about your future decisions make sure you do not do it indoors because you never know who is listening, your appliances have ears

That is the funniest story I've read in a long time. That house has feelings and doesn't want you to go.

reminds me of the movie (can't remember the name) about a toy store owner about to die and the toy store starts weeping.

They say the walls have ears, I agree with Wombat.
To  blend a bulldozer into a house yard asthetically I would put some hanging baskets with ferns, on the roof of the cab and pot plants in the bucket, then to finish some medium height trees around it.

Bulldozer...I dont think I would be able to come up with anything. Maybe grow an Ivy over it but leave the lights (do they have Lights) ...if so leave them uncovered so that the house still thinks its being watched. I had the stairs of a DC-3 aircraft in my yard for some time and nomatter what I did, it didnt look good. Good Luck ...

Love the idea of hanging baskets.

I just love the fact that your House obviously loves you.

Maybe if you tell it you'll take a picture of it with you wherever you go, to remember it by,[and show it a lovely Pic of itself] that might help.

Cheers,
Sheba.

One has to keep a sense of humour no matter what..
The owner of the dozer rang to ask if he could leave it here for at least another week as the job he is doing will take a little longer...so looks like the house will be behaving itself for a little while at least.
But now that it has seen what l am capable of maybe just the threat of the "dozer" may keep it in line...lol
Hubby sugggested l make some TNT out of the cardboard from a toilet roll ( paint them red with "wick" in them ) and shove it somewhere in the house with the threat of lighting it !!!

l must admit it has been a happy home..it was an original old settlers house..the ones that had the slabs of wood for the walls and sat on large tree stumps..so a lot of hard work has gone into renovating but trying to keep that old world feel to it.
Anyone that comes here says the house has a very calm feel to it
So here's hoping it snaps out of it's hissy fit..

Loved all your suggestions..now l have a vision of this humungous bull dozer all covered with plants ( they will have to be plastic as l am the world's worst gardener) it will be the focal point of the selling pitch " House complete with it's own Dozer "
Had a laugh at the appliances having ears...funny thing the computer didn't play up...maybe it has been spying for the rest of the appliances...hmmm
Sure hope our caravan gets this attached to us too !!!!
Have a happy day

Thank you for the best laugh I've had lately!!! I think the house might need the straight-jacket, not your self!  biggrinbiggrinbiggrin

Isnt it normal to talk to "things"? I talk to my plants all the time, and they answer me!!!

I was serious Lyn.  Humans don't have a monopoly on feelings.

Try it.  You might be surprised.

Cheers,
Sheba.
