RE: new to the road

I also like fossicling for opals. I frequent the Eromanga area. Sister has mine out there. I'm not too seriouus. I like the country more than the opals. Which is why I am having trouble getting a suitable rig. Need to have one that is fully independent for a couple of weeks. Used to camp, but between the heat and flys etc want to be more comfortable. When I get on the road, would also like to look for Gems and gold.

Welcome from me too Fran and Rob.
All the best on your travelling exploits, and congratulations to you Fran for giving it a go.
So many couples I've met are house bound because one or the other can't leave home, the family, the kids, or the grand kids.
When you travel you don't leave the planet, just home, for a short or long time.
There are long and quick ways of getting around. There's also aircraft doing regular trips around the states if the need to go home becomes overwhelming.
I always feel right at home in my van wherever I am. Where I'm parked is where I live. I don't have a home base.
Enjoy the new lifestyle and the world you are about to discover. You're going to love it.
