Tunarama Festival - Pt. Lincoln

Is anyone heading to SA's Eyre Peninsula for the annual Tunarama Festival at Port Lincoln?
Check out the website to peruse the programme.
http://tunarama.net/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=7&Itemid=12
The festival begins tomorrow and goes through to next Wednesday the Australia Day public holiday.
Most accommodations including the 2 van parks, are booked out this year, but there's always next year.
I'm heading over there and camping at my daughter's. It's the Festival's 50th Anniversary.
This festival is always FREE, and there is lots of entertainment, markets, food, drink, local wines, and of course the World Championship Tuna Toss. confuse.gif You gotta be there. biggrin.gif

It must be nice to getaway from the rain and mud, but not for me. I am in Rocky , trying to help the parents of an ex. The smell is something to experience, but the the people are not cowed. I think QLders must be diffrerent. We are not phaserd by these th ings , and will prosper . BREATH IN , BREATH OUT , MOVE ON.

I don't think it is just Qldrs Bill, It is all Aussies.
We have the same down here in Vic and everyone pitches in and cleans up as soon as the water passes. Its a great feeling how there is always someone there who will pick up the pieces.
I notice a lot of Vics have registered to help up in the Qld area also. Just hopped on a plane and found somewhere that help was needed.

As part of the Sing Australia mob, we (a busload) paid a visit to Port Lincoln and the Eyre Peninsular after their bushfires... because we (in Canberra)had bushfires that same year and wanted to do something to show support. We sang everywhere, they joined in, and forgot the fires for a little while. Loved the area and the people, and have wanted to go back ever since. Will get there soon I hope.

Enjoy, Granny!

Hi Bill,
Just a small thing,as you have that terrible smell to endure in Rocky.
An old friend gave me a tip years ago to help with the smells.
Put a bit of Vicks on the top lip just under the nose to mask the smells. If that is too extreme the Baby Vicks is a little less"On the Nose" so to speak.
Cheers
