it must have been a terrible experience to go through, pleased to hear you were not in the worst part of town, still feel sorry for all of the flood victims wherever they are in the east of Australia.

I'm glad for you, but it just demonstrates how unpredictable nature is, and how strong the Aussie people are. I hope we never lose that in these politically correct times.
When is it ok to walk into a stranger's house and proceed to rip down the walls and tear out the furniture?
When you help and support victims of a natural disaster in Australia.
Darwin had it after TC Tracy, Brisbane had is in '74, Vic had it after the bushfires, in fact it happens everywhere, anytime, and somehow people come out of the woodwork to help in some way.
Apart from the emergency service personnel and support organisations who are trained and almost prepared, it's the "neighbours" who come out of suburban anonymity to help which impress me the most.
Life does go on. It may be a different life, but it does go on.
Maybe people learn they can do just as much with less, as long as they're alive.
I'm feeling helpless and insignificant right now. All the best to everyone.
