INTERNET ACCESS......ANY THOUGHTS

I have Telstra turbo 3G wireless pre pay, yesterday I found it very difficult to get it up and running properly without it dropping out or just not being able to access the net at all, to cut a long story short after about 4 hours I rang Telstra and spoke to 2 delightful Indian ladies that told me to do all sorts of things I had already tried, while I was talking to the last one I noticed that it just seemed to come back, at the very same time came a knock at the door and there stood another Indian chap asking me if I was happy with my current home phone and internet providers, on thinking on it could this just be coincidence or is there a way that our internet could be blocked temporarily and a company could take advantage of this to sign up unsuspecting new customers, would like to know your thoughts or if anyone else has experienced something like this.

Did your 3G work after he left , it could be setting on your computer mat have to turn airport off or something like that had the same problem with prepaid 12 months ago but was helped by nice young man from Telstra ,

started working just as he rang the door bell, maybe I am just paranoid or something but was really just wondering if there is a way people can block your internet, I really was unhappy with my provider at the time he came but don't sign up to anything door tto door

Yesterday arvo was on telsra bigpond adsl  and couldn't do much , was as slow as a wet week, so gave up.  Later on I tried again and was ok , so maybe just a general fault with network..

I had trouble with mine about an hour ago, wireless broadband, ended up turning it off and now tried and all ok.
I think it would be a co-incidence. I can't see how they would do it especially if they were from a different company.

We bought ours last year and it worked fine. We come over every year and so I got a new sim card this year (early Dec). We have just done a two week tour and it has been brilliant. It took a little while to activate at first, but has worked perfectly for the last two weeks.

thanks for your thoughts maybe it is just the weather up here that is causing problems, just don't realise how dependant you become on it, can't get a bet on on my TAB account without ringing, sure I have missed lots of winners, damn

At the moment Im home useing mine and it has its funny gliches at times, I just hang up and redial and presto away it goes.. Dont think they could interfear with your net ..UNLESS its open then anything is possiable.. Must have a good pass word ect to lock out the freeloaders... Its better than it was years ago..Can remember when it was 4kbs on the phone line and it would drop out at a blink of a eye...Took hours to down load a small program, I think we are moveing forward.....be it slowly.. big smile..Bob
