Fifth Wheeler Kitchen Access

At a caravan dealership this morning to get an outside globe, and noseyed around inside the 5th wheelers they had (as you do). While they are all lovely and spacious with the slide-outs out, it looked like when the slide outs are in for travelling you wouldn't be aqble to access the kitchen, or the fridge. Is that true? How do 5th wheeler owners make their lunch time sandwiches when they are on the road??

Hi  there Nicholstones.
We are looking to buy a 5th  wheeler so we have looked at many of them.
in most cases the kitchen seems to be useable  ( if a bit tight ) with the slide out in.
But in any case with a power slide out, the can be opend up in about  30 secs.
  happy  traveling  landie
PS  If we get one  won't be able to aford lunch.

Hi,
NO!!! we dont go to restaurant's for lunch, normally will not fit in the carpark. lol.

We pull into a rest stop and open the door, press a button and the kitchen slides out - only put it out far enough to get to the fridge and table. Takes about 15 seconds.
Some brands have rear kitchens or access even when slideout is closed.

Could not go back to a conventional van again, but each to their own.

Regards,
Patto.

Then again, of course, you could have a Southern Cross 5th-wheeler, like ours: 7.7 m, no slide-outs, but the most common surprised response by anyone looking at ours -- we show it off frequently ;) -- is 'Wow - so much space!'.
