RE: Happywanderer Congratulations

Hi
Love your  wheel cover and wondered where you picked it up from?  Like to get my husband something of the same but uniquely "him".

Hi Sharon. I don't have a wheel cover. Are you referring to Cruisingranny. Its a good one, isn't it?

I pick it up on Wednesday Sheba, Its a Holden Combo, have to do my own layout, working on that plan now.
If you go back through this thread you will find the link to a Holden Combo Conversion that Milo found on line.
Small but compact and economical and what I will be comfortable with.

I know what type of awning and mozzie net combination I want, thats in another link you will see there in a photo that wombat put up.
Its a work in progress.

Looks good for a small unit.  Don't forget you can make the bed a 3/4 if you want storage without having to unmake it all the time.  [The Plastic Drawer Units.]

Cheers,
Sheba.

Yes, Definitely won't have a bed as big as in the conversion. Will only need single size and other side used for storage.
Saw some fantastic stacking plastic drawers in bunnings yesterday, they come in all sizes, once i have my measurements will go back for some.

The ones I got, [ 4 drawer] are periodically on special at the Warehouse for $ 19.99
per Unit.  I made the Black Elastic straps with hooks at both ends, to hold the drawers in while travelling.  I hook them at the back of the top of the Unit.   They look much better than Bungy Straps.

Cheers,
Sheba.

Thank you, thank you Sheba. I was wondering last night if I would be able to find that photo again from when you last showed it. Thanks for putting it up again. I know now it can be done.
Having it in this thread which has turned into my new campervan thread is so useful, can refer back to it.
Will have to go shopping over in Shepparton as we lost out Warehouse here last year.

Will have to make a list of all you wonderful people and note where you are. Beth if I remember rightly you are in Logan. I know how to get there. But will meet out on the road somewhere anyway.
Looks like i have found the awning I like. My son in law put me onto the Ironman 4x4 site. They have a great awning attached to vehicle along sliding door side with telescopic legs, and can also get a mozzie net which attaches to it.
Tried to copy and paste to show you all but won't work.

That's right Marj. That sounds good.

Now that I've actually gone back and looked at the picture... wow! I wish I'd known about this before I bought Lucy and Gypsy.  disbelief.giffrustrated.gif mad.gif  I had seen the vehicle but didn't know about the conversion. And it won't be exxy on fuel for normal around town driving.

As for the screen..not only for the mozzies but those bloody flies when you're in country areas. clap.gif

Happy wandering Marj! biggrinsmile

Flies, don't talk about it. Have been out today and bought 2 more cans of flyspray, another flycatcher and a box of refills for that one and the one I bought the other day which is now full of dead flies. Plus 2 packs of citronella coils packs for front and back door in the evenings for the mozzies.

Sheba, have been studying your drawers/shelving. What is the framework that is holding it all together, the black pieces in between down the sides and do they have black lids??

Beth, I may have started a new trend. Some will say it could be a tad small but really its what fits your lifestyle and this suits mine.

Yes, that may be so. I'm very envious! giggle.gif

Hi Marj,
The units come unassembled.  You put the frame together, and then just slide the drawers in.  The Base, and Frame and Lid, are all Black Plastic, but Crazy Clarks usually has Grey ones.  I prefer the Black.   I think The Reject Shop sells them too, but I don't know the price there.

They are Four seperate Units, but they fit in beautifully side-by-side.
I only take the Elastic Band down to the third drawer, as the Mattress holds the Fourth one in.

You can access the Fourth one easily, by taking out the Third drawer, as you can see in one of these shots.  They're easy to slide back in again.

I still might get another Unit, and make it a Three  Drawer one, which will fit nicely under the fold-down shelf [which I will then leave up] at the end of the sink, instead of those Baskets.

Let me know if you can't see all of both of them, as when I checked on Fire-fox, one only partially came on again.

I've only got the red xxx's again here.

Cheers,
Sheba.

Perfect, thanks Sheba. Both came out good and explains it well. Now I know what I'm looking for. As you say, as they are separate can get what ever amount you want and fit them in to the available spaces.

HW, I can only see a very small strip of the first shot, would you be able grab the full size pic and repost please. I have a feeling Sheba's pics may be too big, can't think of anything else.

Spent the last two days with the grandkids. Tonight they are going to a caravan park for a few days. Its the one out of Echuca, about 20ks out and over Stuarts bridge, used to be a nudist camp but change of ownership and now a caravan park on about 25acres.
Tomorrow I will pop out there for a look and a wander through the bush with my camera. See what the facilities are like and report back.
Might be a good place to camp depending on their rules.

I'm not so envious of your vehicle now Marj. I've just realized it's only a 1.4lt. I was really wanting a 2lt, which is what I got. smile

No offence to you though..if you're happy with it, that's all that matters. nod.gif

Its the same size as the car I'm driving now Beth so I'm comfortable with it.
Pick it up Friday, the salesman rang this morning, all go for Friday.

Well that's what's important. I used to have an '88 Laser, and it was a great car too.

Friday..so exciting!
